WDCEP Wins Two International Economic Development Awards from the International Economic Development Council

October 5, 2021 (Washington, DC) — The Washington DC Economic Partnership (WDCEP) is pleased to announce it has won two awards from the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) as part of their Excellence in Economic Development Awards Program.

The honor was presented at an awards ceremony on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at IEDC’s Annual Conference, in Nashville, Tennessee.

This is a real honor for the organization, which has been at the forefront of economic development marketing for the past two decades,” said Donna Cooper, Pepco region president, Chair, WDCEP Board of Directors. “These publications are a critical resource that WDCEP has developed over the past two decades to support local real estate development and business investment.”

Our entire team is excited to have our work recognized by our industry peers,” said Keith Sellars, President, CEO WDCEP.  “The DC Development Report is a summary of the major development and construction projects in the District of Columbia and has become an invaluable tool for brokers, tenants and investors considering sites in the District”.  WDCEP tracks major developments throughout the year and performs an annual “development census” in the month of December. The DC Doing Business Guide covers information essential to starting, growing, or expanding your business in the District.

IEDC’s Award honor organizations and individuals for their efforts in creating positive change in communities,” said Jane Jenkins, Chair, International Awards Committee.  IEDC recognizes the WDCEP for providing innovative resources and tools to support economic development. “The publications created by WDCEP, set the bar in economic development marketing and are frequently emulated by other communities.”

The Excellence in Economic Development Awards Program annually recognizes the world’s best economic development programs and partnerships, marketing materials, and the year’s most influential leaders.  The program honors organizations and individuals in twenty-eight categories for their efforts in creating positive change in urban, suburban, and rural communities.
