biography

Derek Ford serves as the Partnership’s President & CEO, leading efforts in business attraction, city marketing, and enhancing economic opportunities across DC’s neighborhoods. Prior roles include consultant/lobbyist advising firms on DC operations, CFO of a community development organization, senior auditor with the DC Office of Inspector General, and accountant at Charles E. Smith Companies. From 2013-2015, he chaired the DC Housing Finance Agency, issuing over $670M in bonds and tax credits for housing. He serves on boards of community organizations like CFLS, Bright Beginnings, and AAREP-DC. A Ward 7 resident, Ford holds a BS in Accounting from NC A&T and a Certificate in Executive Leadership from GWU, and served in the US Army Reserves.

Elizabeth has over 30 years of real estate experience as a top sales producer for over 20 years at Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL), and prior to that, as a real estate attorney for 10 years at Covington & Burling in Washington, DC. In addition to her real estate practice at Covington, she was one of the lawyers tapped to handle all real estate related matters for the firm. As Vice Chairman of JLL, she has negotiated more than 50 million square feet of office space around the globe, generating approximately $100,000,000 in revenue.
