Salesforce today unveiled plans for a new home for its Washington, D.C., operations, reinforcing the company’s long-term commitment to the region and to serving public sector customers and partners.
“Washington is where policy, public service, and innovation intersect, especially as rapid technological change transforms how government and business operate,” said Wendy R. Anderson, SVP of Government and Global Public Affairs, Salesforce. “This new space strengthens our presence in the capital, giving us a dedicated place to convene leaders across government and industry to deepen and forge new relationships, advance shared priorities, and invest in the D.C. community.”
Located at 1401 New York Avenue NW, a property owned and managed by Carr Properties … the site will host policy summits, hands-on briefing sessions, and collaboration on mission-critical technology solutions for the public sector.
Construction on the new space begins in late 2026, with an official opening planned for early 2028.
Federal and D.C. officials are developing “the bones” of a master plan to create three districts in Southwest D.C. south of the National Mall, according to Diane Sullivan, the National Capital Planning Commission’s acting executive director.
Sullivan on Thursday detailed the preliminary vision, saying it would require close coordination between both federal and District officials to reimagine the roughly 230 acres of Brutalist offices surrounding L’Enfant Plaza and Federal Center SW Metro stations into a mix of uses.
“We know that this is one of the most transformative redevelopment opportunities in the nation, perhaps even globally,” Sullivan told the business and development community during D.C.’s Downtown Defined event at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center.
[Deputy Mayor, Nina] Albert said the District’s forthcoming land use plan is expected to denote Southwest as a high density area.
Grassroots Analytics has signed a 24,692-square-foot office lease spanning three floors at Arch Square in Downtown Washington, D.C.
The company will more than double its footprint in the city as it relocates to 803 Seventh Street NW, a mixed-use property owned by Swiss real estate investment foundation AFIAA. The transaction brings the building’s office component to 100 percent occupied.
The deal comes as D.C.’s office leasing market shows improvement. Leasing volume increased 21 percent in the third quarter compared to the same period last year, according to Avison Young.
Price’s team signed a lease two weeks ago for the roughly 3,700-square-foot space at 800 Connecticut Ave. NW formerly occupied by French restaurant La Bise, and before that for more than 25 years, as The Oval Room.
A business deck the team submitted in its pitch to lease the space describes the restaurant, called Lore, as a place that will serve as both a restaurant, cultural experience and a nightlife venue with elevated hospitality.
