Emerald AI, a D.C. startup targeting the data center industry and backed by AI giant Nvidia Corp., has landed $22.7 million in new funding, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing.
The company, founded by former Biden administration official Varun Sivaram, raised the funding from 20 investors.
D.C. investment firm Updata Partners said Tuesday it has raised $875 million for its latest fund — its largest ever.
The new fund exceeds the $608 million in raised for Updata VII in 2022. To date, it has raised more than $3 billion in capital commitments across its funds since its founding in 1998.
Regulatory data and software firm FiscalNote Holdings Inc. is jumping into the multibillion-dollar prediction markets, saying its troves of regulatory and legal data will help users make informed political bets.
The D.C.-based company announced the move last week during an earnings call.
