The D.C. Council will consider a $620 million public-private partnership with D.C. United that would put a roof on Audi Field and expand the stadium’s seating capacity to host more than 100 new events each year.
“We want to grow it,” D.C. United owner Jason Levien told the Business Journal last fall. “And that’s what we talked to the mayor about. We’ve talked to members of the council about — what do we do to partner to make this building even more impactful?”
If the Soccer Stadium Redevelopment and Maintenance Act is approved, it would mean the District will have committed more than $1.8 billion to three projects benefiting D.C. sports teams — the Washington Commanders new stadium ($1 billion-plus), the overhaul of Capital One Arena ($515 million), and Audi Field. State Affairs employs 187 people, 64 of whom report to its D.C. office at 1100 15th Street NW, the company’s largest location and the base of operations for Alison Bethel, editor-in-chief and chief content officer.
Burns said the company has tripled its D.C. office footprint in the past six months, and the startup is “close to capacity” in its current location.
Chevy Chase investment firm Enlightenment Capital said Monday it has made a strategic investment in Quorum Analytics LLC, a D.C.-based company that offers an AI-powered government affairs platform.
“Quorum has built the platform of record for government affairs teams, and the company’s leadership in agentic AI represents the kind of category-defining innovation we invest behind,” Devin Talbott, Enlightenment’s founder and CEO, said in a statement.
Quorum counts more than 2,000 customers, including half of the Fortune 100. It has more than 400 employees across its ranks and is headquartered at 1001 G St. NW in Penn Quarter.
