LEED Platinum Buildings in DC

DC was recently awarded LEED for Cities Platinum Certification – the first city in the world to receive this recognition. The LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) for Cities Platinum Certification was established in December 2016, and requires registered cities to set sustainability goals and submit performance data to the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).

DC is at the forefront of the green building market and has the most LEED-certified projects per capita than any other state. Since 2016, 167 buildings in DC have earned LEED certification.
