Penn West Global Soft Landing Program

The Penn West Global Soft Landing Program provides companies with a flexible, discounted real estate solution. Program participants will land at Studio by Tishman Speyer, a premium coworking space located at 900 19th Street NW. Studio is part of the Penn West Equity and Innovation District (Penn West) in the heart of Washington, DC’s bustling Golden Triangle neighborhood and just blocks from the White House.

Penn West is home to prestigious universities, tech institutions, government agencies, and international development organizations. Eligibility

  1. Strong, verified interest in establishing a presence in Washington, DC within the next 12 months.
  2. Company will have at least one full-time employee physically staffed at the soft landing space for the duration of program participation.
  3. Must commit to a minimum of 3 months in the soft landing space.
  4. Proven ability to pay rent.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who should apply?

International and/or domestic companies with strong verified interest in establishing a presence in Washington, DC within the next 12 months.

Complete the intake form and a representative from WDCEP contact you to determine eligibility. Once you are deemed eligible, you will receive the program application link.

1-6 months prior to expanding to Washington, DC.

Up to 2 weeks from the date all requested materials have been submitted to WDCEP.

  • Participate in orientation upon arrival in soft landing space.
  • Maintain regular communication with Penn West Global Soft Landing program partners, including progress updates on U.S. growth plans.
  • Participate in ongoing Penn West networking and community events.
  • Collaborate on press release to announce participation in the Penn West Global Soft Landing program.

There is no cost to apply or participate in the Penn West Global Soft Landing program.

Participants are responsible for paying for their below market-rate, flexible lease at the designated landing spot for program participants (Studio by Tishman Speyer), as well as general operating costs of opening a business, and relocation costs for employees.

  1. Business plan indicating further growth considerations for Washington, DC
  2. Name, Title, and plan for authorization to work in the US, for all employees participating in the Penn West Global Soft Landing program
  3. Desired start date
  4. Description of real estate needs (e.g., how many desks, shared or private office space, desired length of lease term)
