Mount Vernon Triangle is a vibrant, accessible, and growing mixed-use neighborhood that is integral to the success of an increasingly active downtown DC. With 60+ food, beverage and service retailers and year-round activations and community events, the neighborhood has become essential to the District’s international reputation as an attractive place to live, work, do business, and entertain.
The community is centrally located in downtown’s East End and within walking distance of the Convention Center, Gallery Place, Capital One Arena, Carnegie Library (future site of Apple’s flagship store), Union Station, the U.S. Capitol, and the future Capitol Crossing project.
Building a Greener Community
The 2018 Mount Vernon Triangle Open Space Study, led by the CID, was completed in 2018 and sets a bold vision for the creation of world-class open spaces in the neighborhood. The plan identified 10 opportunity areas & sites, including a re-imagined Cobb Park, for future community gathering places.
