WDCEP Welcome’s Jeff Miller to Board of Directors
July 2, 2014
The Washington DC Economic Partnership is pleased to announce that M. Jeffrey Miller has joined their Board of Directors. Miller assumes the position of co-chairman of the WDCEP Board, in his new role as the Interim Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development.
WDCEP is a public-private partnership that promotes investment and business development opportunities throughout the District. The WDCEP Board of Directors is comprised of thirty-three executives from the private and public sectors. An executive committee and two co-chairs, Jeff Miller, Interim Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development, and Richard Lake, Managing Principal, Roadside Development, LLC, govern the board.
“We look to the co-chairs to provide guidance and leadership for the execution of our vision and mission,” said Keith Sellars, President & CEO of WDCEP. WDCEP facilitates economic development by providing services and initiatives that support business attraction and retention and real estate development. “Our board fosters an environment for the business community to work closely with the District government and DC is much stronger when all of these parties are working well together,” said Sellars.
“Jeff is a great addition to the board. He brings a strong background in real estate and banking to the WDCEP and the District of Columbia,” said Richard Lake. “His expertise is extremely timely based on the amount of development in the pipeline, including several very large public-private projects.”
Miller is a seasoned executive with 23 years of experience in banking, finance and real estate development. Miller previously served as Director of Real Estate for DMPED, where he oversaw a portfolio of development in the District that includes 39 projects under construction and 44 completed for a total development cost of $6.4 billion. Through key projects such as City Market at O, Progression Place and others in the pipeline, Miller has helped facilitate the creation of 2,714 affordable housing units in the District.
Prior to joining DMPED, Miller founded a multi-family real estate consulting and investment firm and led the East Coast multi-family development group of both the Trammell Crow Company and Lowe Enterprise.
Miller earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Lafayette College in Easton, Pa., and an MBA from Rice University in Houston.
