WDCEP Welcomes Doug Loescher to Board of Directors

The Washington DC Economic Partnership is pleased to announce that Doug Loescher has joined their Board of Directors. Loescher assumes the position of DMPED Representative of the WDCEP Board, in his new role as the Director of Business Development and Strategy for the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development.

WDCEP is a public-private partnership that promotes investment and business development opportunities throughout the District. The WDCEP Board of Directors is comprised of thirty-three executives from the private and public sectors. An executive committee and two co-chairs, Jeff Miller, Interim Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development, and Richard Lake, Managing Principal, Roadside Development, LLC, govern the board.

Loescher brings more than 30 years of experience in community-based economic development, leading successful initiatives on both the local and national level.

Loescher earned a bachelor’s degree in urban design and planning from the University of Cincinnati. He has earned additional degrees and certificates in Adult Education and Training, Leadership Development, Group Facilitation and Creative Problem Solving. He has also co-authored several publications, including the most comprehensive manual in the field on commercial district development: “Revitalizing Main Street”.
