Washington, DC―The Washington, DC Economic Partnership’s (WDCEP) newly redesigned website has won a 2011 Communicator Award from leading international awards program, The Communicator Awards.
WDCEP.com received an Award of Distinction in the Charitable Organization/Nonprofit category for exceeding industry standards in quality and achievement.
“This award signifies the importance of making economic development information easily accessible and usable for website visitors,” Steve Moore, President & CEO, Washington, DC Economic Partnership stated. “We could not be more pleased than to have received recognition for the WDCEP.com redesign, which has helped transform our organization’s online presence into a state of the art resource for business owners, entrepreneurs, elected officials, city planners, developers, retailers, and even tourists.”
The new WDCEP.com was launched in October 2010 and took a new approach to visually represent and communicate economic development in our nation’s capital. The user experience is facilitated by an easier, step-by-step process by which one can become educated on doing business in DC, DC’s neighborhoods, DC’s development pipeline, retail opportunities in DC, and data and demographics.
The WDCEP staff worked with DC-based interactive firm agencyQ (Q) over the course seven months to redevelop, from the ground-up, the WDCEP website around the themes of learn, explore, and interact. Q was selected to work on the project out of 26 responsive firms.
