WDCEP Talks Business Finance at March Entrepreneur Road Map Session

The WDCEP kicked off its third Entrepreneur Road Map session on March 12, guiding entrepreneurs through a variety of business finance options.
Jamila Braithwaite, Vice President of the Business Banking Group at Capital One Bank, gave the audience an inside look into lending from a bank’s point of view. Braithwaite gave key indicators of what bank’s look for when lending to new businesses as well as hazardous characteristics of businesses they tend to steer clear of.
Principal at Westmill Capital Partners and Co-Founder of Fundrise Benjamin Miller offered advice regarding crowdfunding, how businesses can utilize the platform and how it can ultimately benefit business owners and entrepreneurs. Miller also touched upon the importance of networking and branding to a startup business. “What matters is REAL reputation, where rubber meets the road”, Miller stated in a response to a question from the audience.
