WDCEP Invites You to Celebrate Small Business in the District!

Join WDCEP Wednesday, July 27 at 8:30am at the historic Willard Hotel as we recognize local DC businesses for their innovation and commitment to excellence at the 2011 Small Business Awards (SBA) breakfast.  Hear Andy Shallal, owner of area favorite restaurant Busboys and Poets, deliver a keynote address on the importance of local business for the DC economy and celebrate awardees from top businesses and business development initiatives that will be recognized for their contributions to the District of Columbia’s small businesses community.

The winner of the WDCEP $150,000 Business Plan Competition—developed to foster and support entrepreneurship in DC—will also be announced at the breakfast program.  The top finalists of the Business Plan Competition include NewVision Health Incorporated, which provides education, entertainment, and communications capabilities directly to patients and their visitors at the hospital bedside or other point of care; Skyline Innovations, which provides renewable solar energy to businesses and the public sector in a way that provides meaningful value to the environment and community; and verdeHOUSE, which connects groups and organizations in need of event space to unique unoccupied real estate at a low cost through their one-of-a-kind venue consulting services.
