WDCEP Announces Keynotes for the Annual Meeting & Development Showcase
The WDCEP is proud to announce Former Mayor of Washington, DC and current CEO of Federal City Council, Anthony Williams will be joined by LivingSocial’s Senior Vice President, Doug Miller to give the keynote addresses at WDCEP’s Annual Meeting & Development Showcase on October 31st. The half-day program will begin with the Development Showcase, featuring exhibitors representing almost every major commercial, retail, and housing development in the District, followed by a formal luncheon that has attracted up to 1,000 attendees in past years. The theme of this year’s Annual Meeting aims to highlight the many accomplishments achieved through the strength of DC’s public-private partnerships.
Anthony “Tony” Williams, the Chief Executive Officer of the Federal City Council, and former Mayor of Washington, D.C. (1999 – 2007) will be giving the opening keynote address. Mr. Williams currently leads an organization which serves as a catalyst for progress in the Nation’s Capital by focusing the creative and administrative talents of Washington’s business and professional leaders on major problems and opportunities that are facing the City.
Doug Miller, LivingSocial’s Senior Vice President of New Business Initiatives will be providing the closing keynote address. In three short years, LivingSocial has become DC’s fastest growing company with over 5,000 employees worldwide, with 1,000 of those based in the District. As Senior VP of LivingSocial, Doug oversees all aspects of the company’s new business development, including overall strategy, new market segments, and managing the existing client base.
The program will also include a Michael V. Hodge DC Revenue Bond Program Deal of the Year Award Ceremony to recognize the year’s top deal that made a significant contribution to DC’s economic landscape. The DC Revenue Bond Program has awarded nearly $8.5 billion in economic development assistance since its inception. The award is named after the former director of the DC Revenue Bond Program in the Office of Planning & Economic Development.
