June 4, 2014

Franchising is a solution for people who want to own and operate their own business, while working under an established brand, benefiting from the experience and know-how of the franchiser. Franchises can offer you a complete system of doing business, from branding and marketing to assistance with business set up, personnel training and product supply.

In the May edition of the Entrepreneur Road Map Series, the WDCEP analyzed what entrepreneurs and business owners need to know about starting a franchise in DC. The distinguished panel discussed all the steps necessary to get started.

Dr. Benjamin Litalien, founder and principal of Franchise Well LLC, shared an overview of the process of franchising a business and advised attendees on franchising concepts that work. He encouraged entrepreneurs to do their homework and to make sure that a franchise’s growth strategies are in line with their own.

Nancy Wade, a franchise sales representative at 7-Eleven, Inc., shared her personal experience of franchising with 7-Eleven and reviewed the processes and specific qualifications of franchising.
