Washington, DC Marketing Center Annual Meeting A Success

The Washington, DC Marketing Center held its third Annual Meeting and Development Showcase and celebrated the hospitality/tourism industry and its five-year anniversary on November 2, 2004.

The event was held at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel and sold out with over 700 guests in attendance. Keynote speaker, J.W. Marriott, CEO of the Marriott Corporation delighted the crowd as he reminisced on his years in the hospitality/tourism business.

The Development Showcase featured displays from 39 exhibits of current and planned development projects in all market segments throughout the District.

Mayor Anthony Williams and Bill Hanbury of WCTC made remarks about the District’s vigorous hospitality/tourism industry and the Marketing Center’s efforts in promoting the industry as a core economy.

A highlight of the event was the presentation of the Development Awards for Hospitality and Tourism. The winners were some the most outstanding development projects in the District.
