The Washington DC Economic Partnership Announces Key New Hires
July 22, 2015 (Washington, D.C.) – The Washington, DC Economic Partnership (WDCEP) today announces new team members to its organization in the areas of business development, technology, small business and retail attraction, and economic research.
Michelle Wright, Business Development Manager – Ms. Wright joins WDCEP’s business development team to increase corporate outreach, enhance public private partnerships, execute business development strategy, and fundraise to help support many of WDCEP’s initiatives. Ms. Wright served as an economic development professional across the metropolitan region for more than 20 years. Her most recent experience includes serving as the Director of the Great Streets Program for the District of Columbia Government.
Stanley Augustin, Manager, Small Business & Retail Attraction – Mr. Augustin serves as WDCEP’s primary point of contact for small business and located in the District, or looking to be located in the city. He manages WDCEP’s monthly speaker series, Entrepreneur Road Map, fosters relationships with local DC businesses, and works with community organizations. Previously, Mr. Augustin worked for Manna, Inc., a local non-profit housing developer, and on Capitol Hill for the Committee on Homeland Security.
Erica Moore, Program Associate, Technology & Entrepreneurship – Mrs. Moore assists with WDCEP’s start-up and technology sector business development and business attraction initiatives. In addition to helping coordinate Washington, D.C.’s presence at South by Southwest (SXSW) and managing data collection of the District’s technology sector, her focus includes managing daily operations and long-term development of WDCEP’s technology startup mentoring program, AccelerateDC Venture Mentoring Service. Prior to joining WDCEP, Mrs. Moore led business development and marketing efforts at several law firms in Washington, D.C.
Bennett Garner, Research Analyst – Mr. Garner is responsible for the WDCEP’s proprietary real estate databases and conducting outreach among the WDCEP’s network of partners to bolster the quantity and accuracy of District-wide real estate and business data. He also provides site location assistance and market data to businesses interested in operating in the District. Prior to joining the WDCEP, Mr. Garner served as Program Coordinator for Summerbridge Pittsburgh and Research Assistant in Urban Studies at the University of Pittsburgh.
Throughout the past year, WDCEP has expanded the size of its team with the announcement of several new positions including Christopher Ahn, executive vice president of government and corporate affairs, Derek Ford, senior vice president of emerging neighborhoods, Damelia Shaw, director of business development and event marketing, and Julie Weber, director of marketing.
