The Washington DC Economic Partnership Announces Finalists for Inaugural We DC Awards
Meet the Winners at Annual Meeting & Economic Showcase on October 30
October 13, 2015 (Washington, D.C.) – The Washington, DC Economic Partnership (WDCEP) today announced the finalists for their inaugural We DC Awards, which honor and recognize Washington, D.C. leaders that have contributed their vision, energy, investment, and time to develop a thriving economic ecosystem in the areas of Real Estate, Innovation + Technology, and the Creative Economy. This year’s winners will be presented at WDCEP’s 2015 Annual Meeting and Economic Showcase taking place on Friday, October 30 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.
Three visionaries from Washington, D.C. whose company or individual contribution has made a significant impact within the city will be recognized.
Finalists were selected by an internal WDCEP panel and the final winners will be selected by the Board of Directors of WDCEP. This award will recognize an individual and/or company that are in commercial or housing development, architecture, construction management, real estate brokerage, and property management.

This year’s Annual Meeting will also feature special guest Mayor Muriel Bowser and three industry leading keynote speakers Tim Spangler, Senior Vice President of Retail of REI, Donna Harris, Co-Founder of 1776, and Jim Abdo, President & CEO of Abdo Development. Each will take the stage to discuss how retail impacts urban development, perspective of the creative economy from a development perspective, and how technology incubators will continue to shape the future of Washington, D.C.’s economic landscape. The 2015 annual meeting will mark 15 years of WDCEP’s contribution to the District’s economy and celebrate the city’s accomplishments achieved throughout the year.
