Success, Impact and Expansion Mark 2007/8 for the Washington, DC Economic Partnership

Founded as the DC Marketing Center, the Washington, DC Economic Partnership (WDCEP) has helped to transform the District through its strategic branding and marketing efforts and quality business and retail development programming for more than seven years.

The WDCEP not only tells the story of Washington’s resurgence, but also actively brands the District as a premier city to take care of business. The newly released 2007/8 Annual Report highlights the accomplishments and achievements of the WDCEP over the last two years, demonstrating its impact on neighborhoods, communities, business owners and partner organizations throughout DC.

A few of the most notable 2007/8 programmatic additions include: the 2008 Small Business Awards, the acquisition of the Washington, DC Technology Council, the management of new economic research initiatives, the expansion of development data and on-line capabilities, the strategic rebranding of the Business Initiative Breakfasts to InDC, and the most highly attended Annual Meeting & Development Showcase (2008).

In concluding 2008, the organization looks to 2009 with great enthusiasm and ingenuity, developing and enhancing programming to address the current economic climate.
