Small Businesses Thriving

Despite what some people might think, small businesses are thriving in the district and residents want to see more of them in their neighborhoods, from drycleaners to restaurants and coffee shops. Over the next 5 years, the district’s goal is to attract 1400 local small businesses and WDCEP is helping them get a toehold in the marketplace with our Fall Neighborhood Retail Summit.

Designed to connect aspiring or expanding small, local retailers with existing business opportunities in the city, the Retail Summit is scheduled September 18, 2007, 8:00am-1:30pm. For the fourth year in a row, business owners will share individual stories with participants about how they survived tough times, reinvented themselves or opened new stores. The summit will also include an introduction to resources available to every sized business. But in the fast moving world of business, there is no time for standing around. Three separate bus tours will take participates through different emerging neighborhoods in DC showing them where space exists for businesses. The Retail Summit puts opportunity into action! Register today at www.wdcep.com to reserve your seat.
