Retail Spotlight | Rhode Island Row

901 Rhode Island Avenue, NE

Rhode Island Row (RIR), a brand new mixed-use project featuring an urban community of apartments, restaurants, shops, and a Main Street scene, is seeking a strong mix of neighborhood conveniences and services with entertainment and dining to complement the RIR experience.

With Metro’s Red Line, fifteen different bus lines and over 400 public parking spaces on-site, RIR is set in the midst of a convenient, transit-oriented neighborhood, with easy access to the rest of the city and community facilities. With a Walk Score of 75 (very walkable!), RIR couldn’t be a better place to call home, do business, go shopping, or meet friends for a night of dining.

RIR is actively leasing the first batch of residential units and seeing very strong interest: over 90% of the first apartments released have been leased. Residents say they love the unit sizes (huge!), finishes (elegant) and location (right on the Red Line) of their new homes. RIR looks forward to quickly leasing the remaining 214 apartments as they are completed this spring.

Retail leasing activity has seen an upswing in the area as the RIR project nears completion. Over 50% of the 70,000 square feet of space is under lease or LOI, and the lead tenant’s space (CVS) is under construction. CVS is expected to open in the early summer of 2012, with other tenants opening in late summer/early fall. The majority of retail spaces are ready for tenant build-outs now.
