The WRAMC Local Redevelopment Authority (LRA) Development Advisory Team seeks responses from potential users or developers for a visionary adaptive reuse of Building #1 that respects the history of the building and the campus, enables a mix of uses on the site and creates new and attractive jobs in the District. The building represents a unique opportunity for an institution or a company to enhance or create a landmark presence in the District, proximate to federal government, educational institutions, and scientific research centers with national and global reach. The Development Advisory Team seeks ideas for the most creative uses of Building #1 that will help the LRA realize the full transformative potential of the entire WRAMC site.

The Development Advisor Team is interested in identifying new uses that could contribute to the site’s priorities of innovation, excellence and sustainability. Ideas should be aligned with goals to integrate the site into the community, develop a mix of uses, provide new jobs and revenue for the District, and reactive the entire WRAMC site.

The RFI is for informational purposes only and does not represent a solicitation or obligation on the part of the District of Columbia, the LRA or its consultants. All responses have an opportunity to shape the recommendations of the WRAMC Base Reuse Plan that will be developed with the community and presented for approval by the LRA in early 2012.

A site tour will be conducted on October 4, 2012, from 9:00am-12:00pm, during which respondents will have an opportunity to tour Building #1 and the surrounding area. Respondents should confirm their attendance and contact information by emailing WRAMC@hraadvisors.com no later than September 27, 2011, in or order to ensure a reservation.

RFI responses are due no later than 4:00pm, October 18, 2011.

Respondents should submit their ideas to:
