The 2015 Annual Meeting and ECON Showcase, Keynote Speakers Announced

REI and 1776 to Speak at the Washington DC Economic Partnership’s  2015 Annual Meeting and ECON Showcase on October 30

 September 1, 2015 (Washington, D.C.) – The Washington DC Economic Partnership (WDCEP) is proud to announce two featured speakers at its 2015 Annual Meeting and ECON Showcase, WDCEP’s annual luncheon that celebrates Washington, D.C.’s thriving economic ecosystem. Tim Spangler, Senior Vice President of Retail of REI and Donna Harris, Co-Founder of 1776, will both take the stage to discuss how retail impacts urban development and how technology incubators will continue to shape the future of Washington, D.C.’s economic landscape.

REI and 1776 are pivotal narratives in DC’s economy from a retail and technology standpoint.

“We are honored to have Mr. Spangler and Ms. Harris discuss their respective decisions to have a presence in Washington, D.C. At the Washington DC Economic Partnership, we feel the best people to tell the District’s economic story are the leaders that are helping to write it,” says Keith Sellars, President and CEO. “REI and 1776 are pivotal narratives in D.C.’s economy from a retail and technology standpoint.”

During the luncheon, WDCEP will also present its inaugural We DC Awards to three visionaries from Washington, D.C.-based real estate, technology, and creative economy markets, whose company or individual contribution has made a significant impact within the city. This year’s annual meeting will mark 15 years of WDCEP’s contribution to the District’s economy and celebrate the city’s accomplishments achieved throughout the year.
