Recap of the January Entrepreneur Road Map Session
February 10, 2014
The WDCEP initiative Doing Business 2.0 was upgraded, rebranded and reintroduced in January as the Entrepreneur Road Map series. The first session focused on Starting and Growing a Business in DC. The Entrepreneur Roadmap Series is an initiative with the purpose of guiding business owners on the intricacies of doing business in the District of Columbia.
The first session was held at Venable, LLP and attended by business owners and future entrepreneurs alike. Presentations were given by Director of the SCORE DC Speaker Bureau Walter Abbot and owner of Vigilante Coffee Co. Chris Vigilante. Abbot discussed the basics for starting a business, business opportunities, funding and cash management. Vigilante shared his personal experiences, highlighting his initial struggles, the endurance it takes to grow a business and the ultimate reward, his business’s success. He encouraged all of the entrepreneurs in attendance to always “wake up like the rent is due”.
Join us on Tuesday, February 11 for our next session on how to navigate the DC regulatory system. The event will be held at Venable, LLP located at 575 7th street, NW. Come network at 8:30am and the program will begin at 9:00am – 10:30am.
