Read All About Business in DC

In 2005, the Washington, DC Economic Partnership (WDCEP) released a variety of publications designed to serve the District’s existing and potential business community.

One of our newest publications is The DC Advantage. It provides companies seeking to locate to the District with quick facts on what gives DC the advantage over other jurisdictions. The publication is filled with information on cultural and sports activities in DC, the city’s transportation network, DC’s housing market and neighborhoods, and its development dynamic.

The 2005/2006 Guide to Development in the District of Columbia is an informative guide on the city’s development dynamic and construction activity. The guide showcases more than 50 residential, retail, office, hospitality and education development projects throughout the city. The guide also lists 350 development projects currently under construction, recently completed, planned and proposed. A new section in this year’s guide called “Development Hotspots,” examines the District’s development activity at a submarket level in various geographic areas of DC.

Also released this year were two versions of Doing Business in Washington, DC, one in English and one in Spanish. Cómo Hacer Negocios En Washington, DC, the Spanish version of the highly popular business guide serves as a complete reference tool for the Spanish-speaking business owners and entrepreneurs on doing business in the District. Written specifically for businesses based in the District of Columbia or business prospects, the guides provide an easy to use format with information on start-up requirements, registration and licensing, options for business financing, business taxes, financial incentives, business insurance, and resources available to assist in the process.

The Partnership also released its 2005 Annual Report which provides summaries of its work programs, activities and accomplishments.
