Partnership News- Did You Know?

Over the past year, the Washington, DC Economic Partnership has achieved numerous accomplishments in support of its mission of facilitating economic development in the District:

  • Visited more than 1,900 companies to date with its DC Business Connections program (over 200 in 2005)
  • Released four publications – the Partnership’s 2005 Annual Report, Doing Business in Washington DC, the DC Advantage, 2005/2006 Guide to Development and the DCBC Annual Report
  • Coordinated the District’s annual ICSC outreach at conventions in New York, DC and Las Vegas
  • Held 57 meetings with retailers and developers at ICSC in Las Vegas, including Whole Foods, Giant, Safeway, Target, Harris Teeter, Fresh Grocer and Storehouse Furniture
  • Represented DC at MAPIC in Cannes, France, an international retail attraction tradeshow
  • Celebrated its 5th anniversary as an organization
  • Hosted its best attended and most successful Annual Meeting and Development Showcase, with more than 900 tickets sold
  • Developed five Business Initiative Breakfasts with topics such as DC’s Transportation Future, Building a 24/7 City— Residential Development in the Neighborhoods and Downtown DC, and Redefining Washington’s Waterfront
  • Supported DC’s English and Spanish speaking business communities with seminars on how to do business in the District, as well as the publication of Doing Business in DC in Spanish and English
  • Showcased the economic development taking place in DC with the showroom and lobby area found in the WDCEP offices located at 1495 F Street, NW
  • Provided information to the public on retail sites and development projects through the Partnership’s interactive search databases on its website
  • Conducted original research in the District’s neighborhood commercial corridors
  • Promoted the District’s neighborhoods through the publication of neighborhood and DC Main Street profile sheets
