Over 50 Exhibitors Expected at WDCEP’s Development Showcase
In just four days, the WDCEP will be kicking off our 2013 Annual Meeting & Development Showcase on Friday, November 15th at the Washington Convention Center. The showcase will not only feature DC’s leading developers, architects, brokers, and contractors, but also the District’s ability to remain at the cutting edge of emerging opportunities. Over 600 people are expected to attend to learn about the massive economic development activity happening in District from key development projects to infrastructure.
The Development Showcase will be comprised of more than fifty exhibitors displaying projects located in every Ward throughout the District. Professionals from every side of the industry will be there: city officials, developers, commercial and residential brokers, contractors, and architects. Representatives from all local agencies dealing with development will also be on site.
Also new this year – the WDCEP has partnered with the National Building Museum to make this year’s Development Showcase extra special and entertaining. Six mini-golf holes from the National Building Museum’s highly popular Mini Golf exhibition will be available for attendees to put-put their way through the showcase! Each mini-golf hole is sponsored and designed by a leading Washington-area architect, landscape architect, or contractor.
Following the Development Showcase will be WDCEP’s Annual Meeting Luncheon from 12-2pm featuring Knight Kiplinger, President & Editor-In-Chief of Kiplinger Publishing, who will discuss the trends in federal spending and employment, D.C. land-use issues (including parking, mass transit and the building height limit), and public education. The DC Development Report published every year by the Partnership will also be released.
The doors for the Development Showcase will open at 10:00am and the Annual Meeting Luncheon will open at 11:45am. Entry to the Development Showcase is free and open to the public; however, tickets must be purchased for the Annual Meeting Luncheon. Tickets may be purchased on site for $125.
