New Gallery Place Stores
With the grand opening of stores in Gallery Place, Downtown DC was filled with the type of energy that only new retail could bring.
On Wednesday, May 18th, Mayor Anthony Williams, District Government officials, retailers and spectators converged on Gallery Place to celebrate the opening of Zengo, Aveda Institute, Clyde’s, Lucky Strike and Bed, Bath and Beyond.
Representatives from Aveda Institute introduced the salon, spa and school for hairstylists and spa technicians, while Clyde’s restaurant celebrated the opening of its flagship location, which will bring 300 jobs to the District. Lucky Strike, based in Los Angeles, is a bowling and dining concept that will bring a new level of entertainment to the city.
Chef and restaurateur Richard Sandoval introduced Zengo. The restaurant will merge Latin foods of Sandoval’s Mexican heritage with the Asian ingredients and techniques of Chef Alan Yu. Bed, Bath and Beyond will open a 50,000 square foot store in late 2005. This will be the first Bed, Bath and Beyond in the District.
