Marketing Center to Attend ICSC in Vegas

The Washington, DC Marketing Center is once again coordinating the District’s presence and activities at the International Council of Shopping Centers Spring Convention for the sixth consecutive year.

The DC delegation will include Mayor Anthony Williams, Deputy Mayor of Planning and Economic Development Stanley Jackson, City Administrator Robert Bobb, Ward 5 Council member Vincent Orange, Marketing Center President and CEO Michael Stevens and Marketing Center Retail Development Manager Keith Sellars.

The convention will take place May 22-25, 2005 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Since the Marketing Center first attended the ISCS convention in 2000, sales tax dollars collected in the District have steadily increased each year. An example of this is demonstrated by a $102 million increase in sales tax revenue from 2002 to 2003.

The ICSC Spring Convention for networking opportunities and meetings between developers, brokers and retailers with mayors, city managers and economic development professionals in a trade show environment. Last year the DC delegation had over 50 of these meetings.

The custom designed Washington, DC booth will feature the Marketing Center’s interactive retail search and development search databases. These databases showcases more than 80 available properties and allow retailers, developers and brokers to search for properties using criteria such as by ward, square footage, type and price.

The Center and its corporate sponsors- Pepco, Nixon Peabody, Reed Smith, LLC, NCRC, the Downtown DC BID and Chicago Title, will also host the 7th Annual District of Columbia reception, a dinner for retailers and developers.
