Marketing Center Announces Annual Meeting & Development Showcase

The DC Marketing Center will hold its 4th Annual Meeting and Development Showcase on Thursday, November 3, 2005, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Washington, DC Convention Center.

Each year the Annual Meeting celebrates the District’s economic revitalization and development dynamic by highlighting one industry and its development projects. This year’s spotlight is on the District’s remarkable office market.

The Annual Meeting luncheon is also an awards ceremony where winners of the city’s outstanding development/renovation projects in the office market will be recognized by the leaders of the District Government.

Awards will recognize the following categories:

  • Most Catalytic Development Project
  • Best New Mixed-Use Development (with offices making up 50 percent of the use)
  • Best New Office Building Design
  • Best Renovation/Reuse of a Historic Building as an Office
  • Lifetime Achievement- for individual office developer or a development company in the office market

You can nominate your favorite office development project that meets the above criteria. Nomination packets will be available after Friday, July 29, 2005. You can download it online from this website, pick it up from the Marketing Center office at 1495 F St. NW or call (202) 661-8670 to receive a packet via mail.

The Development Showcase will feature an exhibition of the recent development projects within the District of Columbia. This highly popular showcase is a collection of development activity in all market segments throughout the District that are planned, proposed, under construction, or recently completed. All developers, architects, landlord reps, nonprofit organizations, housing providers, and government agencies are welcome to participate in the showcase.
