LSDBE Public Oversight Hearing
On Monday, October 24, 2005 Council Member Kwame R. Brown, Chair of the Special Committee on a Comprehensive Policy for Local, Small and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (LSDBE), will hold a public oversight hearing on the obstacles confronting the District’s Local, Small, and Disadvantaged Businesses.
The hearing is open to the public and will allow for testimony from the LSDBE community in regards to obstacles they have encountered while trying to acquire LSDBE certification, attain contracts, access capital, and otherwise participate in the District’s LSDBE program.
Persons who wish to testify are asked to contact Aaron Nelson, Special Assistant for the Special Committee on a Comprehensive Policy for Local, Small and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises, at 202 724-5355 and furnish their name, telephone number and organizational affiliation by noon, Friday, October 21, 2005. If you are unable to testify, written statements are encouraged and will be made a part of the official record. Copies of written statements should be submitted to Ms. Phyllis Jones, Secretary to the Council, Suite 5, 1350 Pennsylvania Ave. N.W., Washington, DC 20004.
The record will officially close on Thursday, October 27, 2005.
The hearing will be held on Monday, October 24, 2005, at 10:00 am in hearing room 412, of The John A. Wilson Building, 1350 Pennsylvania Ave. NW.
