Look out for LUMEN8!

Want to be a part of an effort to transform areas in Anacostia into an art hot spot?  Attend the LUMEN8Anacostia kick-off event on April 14th: a full day of events, including over a dozen free temporiums, a launch party hosted by The Pinkline Project, silent short films projected on buildings, and facades illuminated via intelligent and creative lighting.

LUMEN8Anacostia is a first of its kind initiative implemented by the DC Office of Planning and Arch Development Corporation that aims to transform portions of the Anacostia Business Improvement District into an Art and Culture Temporium for 3 months. The initiative is funded by a $250,000 grant from ArtPlace that is to be administered in four DC neighborhoods, including Anacostia. The goal of the project is to transform vacant or underutilized storefronts into an artist showcase from April to June, when the LUMEN8Anacostia temporiums will be open every Saturday from noon to 5pm.
