Washington, D.C.—The Washington, DC Economic Partnership is a public/ private partnership dedicated to facilitating economic development in the District of Columbia. We are a nonprofit organization that partners with a variety of government, business and community stakeholders to accomplish our mission of business growth and retention throughout the District of Columbia.

The Washington, DC Economic Partnership has four core areas:

  • Retail Development
  • Business Development
  • Information & Research
  • Strategic Partnerships and Government Affairs

As an intern you may be charged with working in one or each of the four core areas. Projects vary by need of the organization. Please note that the WDCEP internship is a non-paid fulltime (summer)/ part-time (fall & spring) internship position. Travel stipends are provided for summer interns to cover travel costs.

Washington, DC is a vibrant city with many cultural attractions. As an intern with the Washington, DC Economic Partnership you will be exposed to various professional, political and cultural activities designed to enhance your knowledge of economic development and the Government and communities of the District of Columbia. Annual summer events include:

  • Overview of the Government of the District of Columbia – Tour of the Wilson Building
  • Attendance at InDC, BusinessPremier and other WDCEP speaker series
  • DC Building & Industry Association Events & Panels
