Washington, D.C.—Today, the District of Columbia Department of Insurance, Securities and Banking (DISB) and the Washington, DC Economic Partnership’s (WDCEP’s) BusinessPremier program invite all members of the business community to learn about Insure-U for Small Business – a new comprehensive resource, which helps small business owners and managers make sound insurance decisions.

A national study shows that only 35 percent of small business owners have business interruption insurance, and while 71 percent say they are very dependent on one or two key people for their success and viability, only 22 percent have key person life insurance. Knowing small business owners’ need to understand the array of business risks they face, as well as, how to protect themselves with the right insurance coverage, the DISB and the WDCEP are teaming up to host a seminar titled “Insurance for Small Business: Exploring the Benefits of Insure-U.”

The seminar, which will introduce vital information to small businesses regarding workers’ compensation, group health, business property and liability, commercial auto, group life, and home-based business insurance, is scheduled to be held Wednesday, July 18, from 8:30 am to 11:00 am, at the WDCEP.

To RSVP for this event, please visit the WDCEP’s website, www.wdcep.com or call or email, Natalie Cofield, Manager Business Development, WDCEP, at (202) 661-8679 or ncofield@wdcep.com.
