HSCDC CGI Inaugural Golf Tournament

H Street Community Development Corporation (HSCDC) will host the CGI Inaugural Golf Tournament, Friday, October 19, 2013, at the historic Langston Golf Course starting at 8:00 am. The Community Global Initiative (CGI) program, established in 2006 by The HSCDC, offers teens from DC public and public charter high schools an opportunity to develop global competency skills by learning the language and culture of a foreign country. In addition to developing those skills, students learn basic financial literacy, particularly in areas of saving, banking, budgeting and investing and college preparation through research of college requirements, student qualifications, application process, financial aid, and visits to local colleges. Finally, students experience an educational tour to the foreign country studied where they use the language and culture skills learned in the program.
