GET READY FOR RECON…Biggest Retail Show of the Year!

The Partnership is headed to the International Council of Shopping Centers’ (ICSC) biggest meeting of the year on a huge marketing mission to showcase to retailers the enormous economic opportunity in DC. Even though overall consumer confidence may be down and the country has fallen into a recession, DC is on a roll with a strong economy fueled by over $60 billion worth of development projects since 2001.

Mayor Fenty, Deputy Mayor Neil Albert and eight councilmembers will attend ICSC to help the Partnership market the city’s massive 6.5 million square feet of retail space to the nation and the world. This is 1 million more square feet than last year, illustrating the strength and vitality of the District’s economy.

Please make time to stop by the Washington, DC Economic Partnership’s exhibit booth (N-0334), where all of the District’s development projects and retail opportunities will be featured. The first copies of the Neighborhood Retail Opportunities guide will be available at the booth along with our “not to be missed” Anacostia Riverfront Video.

You still have time to join over 50,000 of your colleagues from all corners of the world from May 18-21 for ICSC’s biggest retail show of the year RECON at Las Vegas Convention Center. Everyone will be there: retailers, developers, investors, lenders, municipalities and economic development organizations.

We would like to thank our many sponsors in helping us bring all of DC to ICSC.
