Focus On: Ward One
As the District’s most diverse ward, where no single population group is in the majority, Ward One consists of the Adams Morgan, Cardozo/Shaw, Columbia Heights, Kalorama Triangle, Lanier Heights, LeDroit Park, Mount Pleasant, Pleasant Plains and U Street neighborhoods.
From the reopening of the Tivoli Theater and the groundbreaking of Kenyon Square in Columbia Heights, which breaks ground on Friday, February 11, 2005 to the development of the Highland Park development and the Howard Town Center, the ward continues its strong economic revitalization.
Council member Graham looks to the Highland Park project at 14th and Irving Streets as an example of neighborhood improvement that does not displace residents.
In this issue of Capital Columns On-Line, two developments located in Ward One are featured, Highland Park and Howard Town Center.
