Fashion & Economic Development Come Together
On May 28, 2008, the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development and Washington, DC Economic Partnership sponsored a follow-up roundtable discussion from the April 18 initial roundtable.
Fashion designers from across the city came to discuss the economics of the fashion industry in the District of Columbia.
The roundtable brought to light issues pertaining to resource development for growing this industry and sustaining it in our nation’s capitol, and also broadened the City’s knowledge regarding the fashion community’s vision and what is needed to meet their needs, concerns and demands.
Participants in the roundtable were broken up into groups, and tasked with developing an agenda to present to the City’s Commission on Fashion Arts and Events.
