ExportDC Announces 2 Trade Missions to Colombia & Canada

ExportDC announces two upcoming multi-sector and multi-state trade missions that are available to DC-area businesses to Bogotá, Colombia and Ottawa and Toronto, Canada.

Trade Mission to Bogotá, Colombia

This September 9th-12th, the United States Department of Commerce, International Trade Administration, U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service (US&FCS), in collaboration with the American Chamber of Commerce in Bogotá, is organizing a Trade Mission to Bogotá, Colombia.

ExportDC will be helping small businesses to minimize the time and cost of developing business in new international markets including those of Colombia, Canada, Brazil, and more. The U.S.-Colombia Trade Promotion Agreement (TPA), provides duty-free entry for over 80 percent of U.S. consumer and industrial exports to Colombia, with remaining tariffs to be phased out over the next 10 years.

The purpose of this mission is to assist U.S. companies in launching or increasing exports of U.S. goods or services to Colombia. It will include business-to-business matchmaking appointments with local companies, as well as market briefings and networking events.

Beginning August 27th, small businesses will have the opportunity to join an organized group market and receive a customized business itinerary that includes tailored one-to-one meetings with potential customers and business partners. The group market visits will also include country information sessions, travel and logistics support, and industry sector briefings.

Briefings and one-on-one business appointments will be coordinated by the U.S. Commercial Service Offices (USCS) in Canada. The mission is open to U.S. companies in all industry sectors, but best prospects for Canada include: information and communication technology/cyber security; renewable energy/energy efficiency; safety and security; architectural design and construction; and travel and tourism.
