Experts to Resolve the Intricacies of Business Insurance at July Entrepreneur Road Map Event

There are many different types of insurance available to those that operate a business: Commercial, Workers Compensation, Life, Auto, and Liability. Do you know the obligations you have as a business owner?
In the July edition of the Entrepreneur Road Map series, our distinguished panel of speakers will discuss what changes entrepreneurs should consider making to their employee handbook to mitigate potential loss for their businesses and transfer potential business-related risks to insurance companies.
Alexandra Piotrowski, an Economic Development Specialist at the US Small Business Administration, will explore the details of the Affordable Care Act and how it can potentially affect your business. To cover the basics, Arthur Slade, an Insurance Operations Specialist of the Department of Insurance, Securities and Banking (DISB) will review the fundamental insurance laws that all business owners should be acquainted with as well as provide information on all of the resources the DISB has available to help small businesses.
Join the WDCEP on Wednesday, July 16th, for a session on business insurance in Washington, DC. The event will be held at Venable, LLP located at 575 7th St., NW. Come network at 8:30am and the program will run from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
The Entrepreneur Road Map Series is an initiative of the Washington, DC Economic Partnership in collaboration with the Small Business Administration, Venable LLP and Capital One Bank, that is aimed at guiding business owners on the intricacies of doing business in the District of Columbia. Attendees will gain access to some of the city’s top thought-leaders and have the opportunity to network with panelists and other attendees. In WDCEP’s effort to attract, retain and grow businesses in the District, this initiative is an essential educational tool and resource for all those doing business in the nation’s capital. The goal is to educate, provide networking opportunities as well as address the needs of entrepreneurs in DC.
