Entrepreneurs & Restaurateurs Tour New York Ave NE & Rhode Island Ave NE
On April 17th, the WDCEP was joined by DC government officials, brokers, property owners, entrepreneurs and service providers for a tour of retail and restaurant opportunities along the major commercial corridors of Ward 5 – New York Avenue NE and Rhode Island Avenue NE. The site tour is the third in a series hosted by the WDCEP in partnership with the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development.
The tour featured development projects and highlighted lease-ready spaces along the corridors, with brokers and developers on-board to provide detailed information about the properties. A few of the featured projects included:
The Point at Arboretum: a 332,000 sq. ft. shopping center along 14.75 acres on New York Avenue, NE. The plan calls for a 124,000 sq. ft. Walmart (with pharmacy & grocery), a Burlington Coat Factory and 30-45 additional retailers and restaurants. For more information, click here.
Shops at Dakota Crossing: a planned 44-acre shopping center located in the Fort Lincoln neighborhood of Northeast DC with 430,000 square feet of destination and neighborhood serving stores, restaurants and other retail amenities. For more information, click here.
Rhode Island Row, a mixed-use development project located at the intersection of Rhode Island Avenue, NE and Reed Street, NE, adjacent to the Rhode Island Metrorail station. The project will feature 274 residential units and 70,000 square feet of retail. For more information, click here.
