Employers Benefit with On-the-Job Training!

The District of Columbia’s Department of Employment Services successfully competed for and won a $627,000 grant from the United States Department of Labor to pilot an innovative On-the-Job Training (OJT) initiative.  OJT assists employers to stay competitive by reducing the costs of hiring and training new workers.  This initiative will reimburse employers 50 percent or more of a new hire’s wages paid during the training period.    Participating employers determine job requirements, design training plans to meet individual business needs and make all hiring and employment decisions.  For more information, contact the OJT Coordinator at 202-698-5146 or email at does.ojt-initiative@dc.gov.
