Emergency Preparedness in the District

Last year, Mayor Williams proclaimed September as Emergency Preparedness Month in the District.

In observance of the month and in response to area businesses’ desire to be better informed and prepared, the Washington, DC Marketing Center will present its next Business Initiatives Breakfast (BIB) on “Emergency Preparedness Round II: Case Studies.”

As a follow-up session to last September’s BIB seminar on the same topic, “Round II” is intended to give attendees a more in-depth understanding of what they need to know in case of an emergency to prepare their businesses and employees in buildings and public transit.

A panel of experts on the subject of building and transit security and emergency preparedness will share their first-hand experiences in dealing with emergency situations.

Scheduled for Thursday, September 15, 2005, 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m., this event will be held at Reed Smith LLP, 1301 K St., NW, East Tower Penthouse (Metro: McPherson Square or Metro Center). Registration is required to attend this event and there is a fee of $30.
