Washington, D.C.—On January 28th, the Washington, DC Economic Partnership will release the highly anticipated Asian editions of the Doing Business in DC Guide Book. The free step-by-step manual, distributed to local universities, business resources providers, and foreign embassies, has been translated into Mandarin, Korean and Vietnamese. Previously published in English and Spanish, this year marks the first time that the publication has expanded to address the Asian community, demonstrating the District’s commitment to inclusivity.
The event, held during the Chinese New Year, will draw representatives from the national and local Asian business community who will address initiatives and efforts to expand business ownership for the District’s growing Asian population. Speakers include: Neil Albert, Deputy Mayor for Planning & Economic Development; Susan Allen, National President & CEO, US Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce; Julie Koo, Director, Mayor’s Office of Asian & Pacific Islander Affairs, Stanley Fujii, Assistant District Director, US Small Business Administration, DC Office.
The 2008/9 Doing Business in DC Guide Book was made possible by the Neighborhood Investment Fund, Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning & Economic Development and Mayor Adrian M. Fenty’s Office of Asian and Pacific Islander Affairs.
