Doing Business 2.0: Business Insurance

February 25, 2011

Please join us Wednesday, March 9 for a discussion on business-related risks and preparation for losses that could potentially jeopardize your company.  Risk is a concept that all owners must face when planning and operating a business.  Whether short or long-term risk is anticipated, it is important to be aware of all available resources.  Business insurance allows the transfer of possible business-related risks to an insurance company for a premium.

Antonio Hunter, Acting Director of the DC Department for Small and Local Business Development; and Derek Symer, Principal at AH&T Insurance will provide financial expertise relative to doing business in the District.  Mr. Hunter will touch on the state of small businesses in DC and their insurance needs, and Mr. Symer will discuss his experience as a property and casualty producer while specializing in federal employment compliance and regulations for nonprofits, government contracting and technology.  A representative from the Department of Insurance, Securities and Banking will also be present to speak about Worker’s Compensation Insurance, and Business Property and Liability.
