DC Space Finding Tour – Rhode Island & New York Avenues
WDCEP kicked off its first DC Space Finding Tour of 2014 with a tour of Rhode Island and New York Avenues. DC Space Finding Tours target entrepreneurs, retailers, restaurateurs and brokers who intend to open or expand their business in DC’s neighborhoods. The bus tour featured updates and information on emerging neighborhoods and commercial corridors throughout DC.

The tour highlighted 50+ retail, office, and industrial and development sites available along the Rhode Island and New York Avenue corridors including: Union Market, Hecht’s Warehouse, the Shops at Dakota Crossing, Brookland Square, Monroe Street Market and Rhode Island Row. For the first time, an interactive map was available to attendees which allowed them to pinpoint numerous available spaces on and around the tour route. A variety of speakers were featured from the DC Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development and EDENS, as well as several local entrepreneurs and business owners.
National retailers Costco, Lowe’s and Barnes & Noble, in addition to numerous restaurateurs, have already entered into the market and created shopping and dining destinations in the major corridors explored in the tour.
