D.C. Department of Employment Services (DOES) Hospitality Path2Work: DOES to provide Your Next Great Employee

The D.C. Department of Employment Services (DOES) cordially invites you to partner with us to find your next qualified, punctual, customer-friendly, work-ready and smiling employees through the Hospitality Path2Work. DOES has designed a 3-step process to ensure success in connecting employers with qualified employees including an information session for employers, pre-screening of potential employees, and a hiring event with qualified candidates.

You can also contact Stephanie Reich at (202) 724-5138 or Liz DeBarros at (202) 741-8694 to create your own customized hiring plan.

Three easy steps:

  1. On Friday, August 3 from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, DOES representatives will hold a “drop in” session at a downtown location for employers to privately share information about the type of candidates you are looking for, ask questions about what type of candidates DOES works with, and any questions about the process itself. The session is also an opportunity for DOES to share information about important tax credit, on-the-job training reimbursements for employers who hire District residents, and more. We will also provide a call-in number at any time convenient for you if you cannot attend.
  2. During the week of August 13, DOES will pre-screen candidates based on your job descriptions and requirements, i.e. great interpersonal skills, ready, and able to work. The pre-screening process allows us to forward for your consideration only candidates that meet what you are looking for in a potential employee.
  3. Please send your hiring manager to the Hospitality Path2Work: A One City ∙ One Hire Event at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center on Friday, August 24, 2012, from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM to interview qualified DC residents.

If you are interested, please provide DOES with the Human Resources contact person (name, email, and day-of event phone number) and your job descriptions for upcoming openings by e-mailing them to Path2WorkRSVP@dc.gov by August 7, 2012.
