Celebrating Local Entrepreneurship & Business Prosperity

In less than two weeks, the Washington, DC Economic Partnership will host the 2008 BusinessPremier Small Business Awards to demonstrate the District’s commitment to foster and acknowledge local business talent. Representatives from all levels of government including: the Congress of the United States of America, the Executive Office of the Mayor, the Council of the District of Columbia and the Department of Small and Local Business Development will join to celebrate small businesses whose contribution has led to the District resurgence.

“Small businesses here in DC deserve recognition. They are the personality of our neighborhoods, they are highly creative, and they give back to the community in many ways….an event like this, where we say thank you, is long overdue,” remarks Steve Moore, President & CEO, Washington, DC Economic Partnership.

As an added component to the program, the Partnership will release its 2008 Doing Business in Washington, DC guide book, equipped with two new chapters to further educate aspiring and existing entrepreneurs on ways to grow or expand their business operations. Nearly twenty-thousand copies of this guide, the organizations most highly sought after publication, will be published in English, Spanish, Mandarin, Vietnamese and Korean.

To date, more than 200 entrepreneurs, government officials and business executives have registered for the event which will take place on July 30th at the Willard Hotel (9:00AM – 11:00 AM).

The 2008 BusinessPremier Awards are brought to you by the generous donations of our sponsors the Department of Small & Local Business Development, BB&T, McQuade Brennan, and CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield.
