The Washington DC Economic Partnership has partnered with Age-Friendly DC to launch a pilot initiative to recognize Washington, DC businesses whose products, services, and practices help make the city an inclusive environment for older adult customers.

In 2016, we are expanding this effort throughout the city and invite you to apply. If selected as an “Age-Friendly Business,” you will receive a certificate and decal to proudly display in your business and on promotional materials. Details of your age-friendly business practices will be promoted at events and on websites and publications that reach older consumers and your business will be recognized at a special ceremony.

Eligibility to become an age-friendly business

  1. Be physically located in Washington, DC city limits
  2. Have a valid, non-expired business license
  3. Pledge to uphold the age-friendly checklist values

Apply today

  1. Fill out the online application by December 31, 2015
  2. Provide supporting documentation (e.g., photos, copies of ads, links to website) by email, mail, or fax to WDCEP

By participating in this initiative, you and your business are setting the bar for best practices in the District and helping build a city that welcomes older adults. Make sure to apply today! The deadline is a rolling deadline – applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis.
