Affordable Housing Seminar with U.S. CONGRESSMAN BARNEY FRANK

Washington, DC- On Tuesday, February 14, 2006, the Washington, DC Economic Partnership will host the seminar, “Affordable Housing: A National Issue with Local Implications” as part of its Business Initiatives Breakfast (BIB) series.

The need for affordable housing is a central issue throughout the United States and the need is evident in the Nation’s capital. From District-based employers and workers to current DC residents, affordable housing affects a large population.

This BIB offers the unique opportunity to learn about affordable housing programs on the national and local levels. Congressman Frank will provide an overview on the benefits of affordable housing, available programs and his initiatives for making affordable housing more accessible across the nation.

The seminar will also feature Jalal Greene, Director, Department of Housing & Community Development (DHCD); Tania Jackson, Director of Community Policy, The Jair Lynch Companies; and Bob Pohlman, Executive Director, Coalition for Nonprofit Housing and Economic Development.
